Saving the wetlands, passing a good time
Nutria – the large, herbivorous, semiaquatic rodent – consume up to 25% of their body weight in plant material daily. Nutria are destroying an estimated 80,000-100,000 acres of marsh annually.
The Nutria Rodeo was created to help preserve the coastal wetlands, where we love to hunt and fish on a daily basis.
Come be part of the Nutria Rodeo Swamp Safari Shootout Nutria Rodeo 2023. You can participate in wetlands conservation and help fight an invasive species while having a good time and competing for great prizes.
About the Rodeo
The Nutria Rodeo was revived by organizer Gabe Macormic in 2021. More than 8,300 acres of Louisiana marsh was damaged by nutria in 2021.
